Most deviation / faults / "flyers" / bad shots occur as you start pulling the trigger
On standard targets, this is the moment where you cannot see how much or how far you have move off you point of aim.
P.O-A.T targets ensures that you can see your deviation during the last moment, before it goes, and you can still prevent shooting a bad shot, in time. This saves you a bad grouping, and allows you to start the aiming process all over shoot a great shot.
How to use P.O-A.T targets
(Practice these steps dry until reasonably automatic / consistent before actually shooting.
1) Unlike standard targets, the bull will not become clear until your telescope is focused correctly.
2) Unlike standard targets, clear shaking / trembling is seen during your aiming process.
This target teaches you to relax as follow;
2.1) From your left hand, relax right around to your right hand;
i.e. while aiming, relax yourself in the following order; hand, forearm, upper arm, left shoulder, neck muscles, cheek soft against the butt, down the right shoulder, right upper arm, right forearm, right hand (left handed shooters, do it in reverse)
2.2) Trembling disappears when hardly gripping the weapon.
2.3) Pull the weapon gently into your shoulder, not hard or tight, but soft firm, ensuring that trembling becomes less and less (build this muscle memory grip to do the same with each shot). This target ensures that consistency is developed.
3) While squeezing the trigger, you will instantly see if you have moved of the bull. You will clearly and timely see the bright background, thus allowing you to stop the shot, even at this late stage, and allow you to restart the aiming process.
P.O-A.T target and sticker system helps you identify origin of bad shots, because you know exactly what happened until the bullet left the barrel. Now you can identify and correct origin of the shot. Does the fault lie with you, the telescope, ammunition or the weapon.
